Meet the Band
Our band members all bring their own brand of fire to the Dumpster!

Vocals
Carlos Buhain
After growing up on the small Pacific island of Guam, Carlos has been surrounded by music throughout his life. After transitioning between guitar and drums, he finally found his voice and fronted several bands in Hawaii.

While fronting the original band Sister Suicide, he opened for national acts such as Warrant, Ratt, Quiet Riot, and The Tubes. Sister Suicide was eventually approached by a management company to do a small tour of Japan.
Over the course of his life, Carlos used food as a mode of sustaining his family as a chef. Since moving to Colorado in 2021, he has been practicing as a culinary instructor teaching cookery.
Now the lead singer for Dumpster Fire, Carlos has found a new creative home and is once again having fun with music.

Guitar & Bass
Brian Hendrickson
Brian Hendrickson brings a rich and eclectic musical journey to Dumpster Fire, playing both guitar and bass. Growing up in Washington State during the explosive grunge era, Brian was immersed in the raw energy and groundbreaking sounds of emerging local bands. Long before Nirvana and Alice in Chains became household names, he was trading cassette tapes of underground hits with friends, soaking in the gritty essence of the scene.
As Brian's career took him across the country, his musical palate expanded, weaving a diverse tapestry of influences. From the soulful depths of traditional blues and blues-based rock to the anthemic power of classic rock from the '60s and '70s, and the relentless intensity of metal and punk, Brian's playing style evolved with each new sound he encountered.
Now residing in Monument with his family, Brian channels his vast musical experiences and passion into every Dumpster Fire performance, creating an electrifying fusion of styles that keeps audiences coming back for more.

Guitar, Bass & Vocals
Dan Mintzer
Dan grew up first in San Diego, CA, then spent the second half of his childhood in rural Eastern Washington State. Since then, life has taken him to such diverse locations as Idaho, Virginia, the Central California Coast, Hawai’i, and Mississippi. While in college, he met a Colorado girl and fell in love—both with her and the state—and, after visiting regularly for over a decade, has finally been able to settle down in Colorado Springs where he’s lived since 2020.
Dan has been playing guitar since he was about 12 or 13. Even before that, he knew he wanted to play the electric guitar. He’s always loved big, sexy riffs and screaming leads. His early influences were Jimi Hendrix, The Beatles, CCR, and Eric Clapton. Through his teen years, he discovered Led Zeppelin, and Jimmy Page quickly became one of his biggest influences. At various points, he went through Lynyrd Skynyrd and Guns n’ Roses phases and is still going through a long-lived 90’s grunge/hard rock phase. He’s a big fan of the Blues and Blues Rock, and enjoys older material from artists such as Junior Kimbrough and Freddie King, as well as more modern players, like Gary Clark, Jr. and The Black Keys. In addition to Rock and Blues, he enjoys such diverse styles as Classical/Baroque, Folk, Americana (he lists Lucero as one of his favorite bands), and a little old-school Rap. If you asked him today what his favorite band is, he’d probably tell you Rival Sons.
Dan has found a home with Dumpster Fire, where everyone’s tastes overlap enough to keep things fun while being different enough to challenge him to play material he typically wouldn’t on his own. Getting out of his comfort zone has been both an adventure and a catalyst for musical growth, and playing a wide variety of music means things never get boring. Dumpster Fire has also been a great creative outlet, allowing Dan to both contribute to, and observe the evolution of a riff or chord progression taking on a life of its own and becoming a whole new song. He looks forward to bringing you some of your favorite songs, some Dumpster Fire originals, and may be some songs that will become new favorites!

Guitar, Bass & Vocals
Scott Peters
Inspired to play guitar after attending the 1984 Van Halen tour, Scott quickly began playing his “rendition of nothing” according to his older brother. Out of nothing must come something…
Scott began playing professionally in 2004 and formed the band Mas Tequila with 3 other members. From Territory Days to Winter Park, Mas Tequila saw some success along the front range and beyond. After a few iterations of the band and a final individual appearance at a Battle of the Bands at The Cosmo in Las Vegas, Scott packed up his gear for about a decade.
At the suggestion of Scott’s brother-in law, he recently dusted off the guitars and amps to begin jamming and playing out again. Scott recently left Disturbing the Peak to join a band of brothers at the Dumpster Fire. Happy with where he is now and the experiences bygone, Scott looks forward to recording originals and bringing great live experiences with his talented bandmates.
